Southmore Bulldogs will be recognizing "World Mental Health Awareness Week" October 7th through October 11th.

Understanding our Mental Health and how it impacts our daily wellbeing is key to success in all aspects of our daily lives. Mental health means feeling and functioning well day to day and overall. This week we will learn ways to maintain our mental health and how we as students can seek support for ourselves or others. Together we can raise awareness and promote a positive mental health culture throughout BULLDOG COUNTRY.

  • On Tuesday, October 15th,  students and staff can dress as their favorite superhero to power through and beat the bears.
  • Wednesday, October 16th,  is "Purple Out" day - wear purple from head to toe!
  • Thursday, October 17th,  is "Space Day" - We’re going to take the bears out of this world! Suit up in your space gear.
  • On Friday, October 18th,  wear your favorite college gear.

7th and 8th Grade Southmore Students and Parents,

Our focus this year is on creating a strong and supportive environment where every student feels encouraged and valued. Our campus Theme is “When Action Meets Compassion, LIVES Change.” We MUST ALL do our part in being kind to one another and be compassionate when interacting with peers and staff. You can select the topics below to expand and read more about our campus. Let's make this year memorable by working together and supporting one another. I am confident that with our combined commitment, we will create an exceptional school year filled with learning, growth, and strong community bonds. Let's have a fantastic year Mighty Bulldogs!

Sincerely,

Mr. Moody

Principal, Southmore Intermediate

At Southmore, we are dedicated to providing students with numerous opportunities to learn and grow. Our curriculum is designed to be engaging and challenging, ensuring that each of our students can achieve their highest potential. We believe that education is not just about academics but also about building relationships and a sense of community. Together, we will work towards fostering a school culture that supports and respects everyone.

Your safety and security are our top priorities. We are committed to maintaining a safe and secure environment for all students and staff. Our collective efforts, consistent approach, and dedication from our staff, parents, business partners, and community members play a crucial role in achieving this goal. In our current times it is easy to find fault in others. Fostering an environment of understanding and respect is crucial, especially in our interconnected world. It's important to recognize that our differences can enrich our experiences and perspectives, rather than divide us. By embracing empathy and open communication this next year, we can work together to create a more harmonious and inclusive community at Southmore Intermediate. Physical aggression of any kind SHOULD NOT be promoted nor tolerated as a way to solve issues.

Social media, while a powerful tool for connection and expression, also has the potential to amplify negativity if not used responsibly. As we enter the 2024-25 school year, it's essential to be mindful of how our words and actions online can impact others. By promoting positivity, kindness, and constructive dialogue, we can make social media a space that uplifts and unites us, rather than one that destroys our friendships and reputations and causes us to do things that are not appropriate in a school environment. Let's commit to being respectful, responsible, and positive digital citizens, setting an example for others to follow in the coming years at Southmore. Together, we can create a more compassionate and understanding world, both online and offline.

The mission of Pasadena ISD, the gateway to unlimited opportunity for our culturally rich community, is to empower students to become accomplished, self-directed, collaborative, lifelong learners, who boldly contribute to an increasingly complex and evolving world by engaging them in positive relationships, rigorous curriculum, and innovative meaningful experiences.
